Belgian professional soccer team Gent has reached the quarterfinals of its domestic League Cup competition. Key midfielder Hong Hyun-seok came off the bench.

Gent defeated Sint-Truiden 1-0 in the round of 16 of the 2023-2024 Belgian Cup on Sunday (July 7) at the Stade de Steen in Sint-Truiden, Belgium, to advance to the next round.

Ghent took the lead in the 38th minute through Hugo Kuipers after a hard-fought battle.

They then held off Sint-Truiden’s attacks to reach the quarterfinals.
