Seoul National University Football Team Wins First College Championship in 50 Years, Beating Dongwon University

Seoul National University’s football team has won its first national championship in 50 years.

The Seoul National University defeated Dongwon University 19-17 in the final of the 63rd National Collegiate Football Championship at Gunwi Sports Complex in Gyeongsangbuk-do, Gyeongbuk, on Sunday afternoon.

This year’s National Collegiate Football Championship was divided into the Tiger Bowl, which featured eight teams,

including Seoul National University, and the Challenge Bowl, which featured four teams. 파워볼

Founded in 1963, Seoul National University’s football team, the Green Terrors, was at its peak from 1968 to 1973,

winning back-to-back national championships.

This year, Seoul National University, which hasn’t won a title since,

defeated Kyungpook National University in the quarterfinals and Dong-A University in the semifinals before topping Dong-A University in the final.

After taking a 5-0 lead in the first quarter with a safety (a defense that keeps an opposing offense out of the end zone – 2 points) and a field goal (3 points).

Seoul National University gave up a touchdown to Dong-A University’s Bae Joon-ho in the second quarter (6 points and a bonus kick), cutting the lead to 5-7.

Seoul National University gave up a field goal in the third quarter,

but scored seven more points on a 13-yard run up the middle by running back Moon Jimin to come back to 12-10.
