Columbus Casino, Caesars Entertainment’s temporary gaming facility in Columbus, Nebraska, is now open at Platte County Ag Society Park. While construction is underway on the permanent Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino, guests can enjoy more than 250 of the newest slot machines and bet on horse racing at Ag Park’s already existing simulcast at Columbus Casino.
Yesterday morning, leadership from Caesars Entertainment, Tom Jackson with Columbus Exposition and Racing and Mayor of Columbus, Jim Bulkley came together for a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially welcome the casino’s first players.
“Opening the Columbus Casino is a huge milestone for us in the Harrah’s Columbus project,” said Don Ostert, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino. “With the tremendous support from the community of Columbus, we’re proud to open our doors and welcome guests to the temporary facility for the first time.”
Columbus Casino is also part of Caesars Entertainment’s expansive Caesars Rewards® network. Guests who play at the temporary casino can earn and redeem Reward Credits at any of Caesars Entertainment’s 50+ properties in North America, including both Columbus Casino and the future Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino.
Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino, is being built in partnership with Columbus Exposition and Racing and will offer the longest thoroughbred racetrack in the state. It is expected to feature a 28,000-square-foot-casino and sportsbook with more than 500 slot machines and 14 table games. The property will also be home to the award-winning restaurant, The Brew Brothers, which was founded by the Carano family in 1995, and a bar dubbed Wishbones, a nod to the hometown favorite event center that closed its doors in 2021. A Marriot Fairfield Inn and Townplace Suites will be built next door with a walkway connected directly to the casino. The property is expected to be complete in the first half of 2024.
