The Kia Tigers of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) have continued their dominance over their rivals this season, further cementing their lead in the league standings.
The Tigers won 10-5 against the Samsung Lions in Gwangju on April 17, followed by a 10-4 victory at Samsung Electronics on April 18. With the two wins, Kia maintained its dominance over Samsung with a 7-3 record and extended its winning streak over Samsung to five games. Samsung, which dropped both games, dropped to third place.
The second-place LG Twins had a stronger showing. Kia swept a three-game midweek series with LG last week to improve its record against the team to 9-3. LG, which was second at the time, suffered a shock sweep and dropped to fourth place.
Kia also holds a one-game lead over fourth-place Doosan. They have met 12 times this season, winning six, drawing one and losing five.
Once in a tight race for the top spot with LG, Samsung, and Doosan, Kia has slowly widened the gap by racking up head-to-head wins, including a 7-3 victory over the Hanwha Eagles the day before.
Kia has a six-game lead over LG, with Samsung and Doosan at 7.5 and 8 games back, respectively.
Kia’s dominance has effectively left LG, Samsung, 사설 토토사이트 and Doosan battling for second place, but it’s not too late to catch up. There are still 52 games left in the regular season, so it’s important for the team to continue its upward curve to defend its lead.
What’s more, they have some tough games coming up. They have four games against LG and Doosan, and six against Samsung. While the head-to-head advantage is locked in regardless of the outcome of the remaining games against LG, the results against Samsung and Doosan could upset the trend.
LG, Samsung, and Doosan are the three opponents that KIA could face in the fall baseball season. Kia’s confidence is high, as they have a tiger in their corner. If they can carry the momentum from the regular season into the postseason, a first title in seven years is not out of the question.
